Class of 2025 Walker High Outstanding Seniors

Two graduates holding up black caps with maroon tassels in front of pink blossoms. Text reads “Class of 2025 Outstanding Seniors” with the Walker High School logo and Academic Excellence banner.

Each year, the Puyallup School District recognizes Outstanding Seniors from Emerald Ridge, Puyallup, Rogers, Walker High School, and the Puyallup Digital Learning program. School staff choose the Outstanding Seniors based on their impressive qualities, such as strong work ethic, leadership skills, ability to inspire others, resiliency, academic performance, and positive impact.

Congratulations to this year’s recipients!

Aubrie Baker is one of those uniquely talented students that comes along when you're teaching. She is an incredibly skilled artist and an adept writer, but what I will remember about her is her deep compassion for others. Aubrie is a student who understands the world around her in a rare way, and (thanks to our mural project) has literally left her mark on the school. Next, she plans to go to art school, and those who know her well couldn't be happier. We could use more humans like Aubrie in this world, using her creative ideas and insightful thinking to make things better around us.

If you met Dylan in spring of 2024 and met him again in the spring of 2025, you may not recognize him as the same person. Dylan had some life challenges happen over the course of his high school career. He did well academically, but had a very difficult time with interpersonal interaction, he was afraid to talk to people. Since joining our POD classroom, Dylan has found his voice, created a core group of life-long friends, and stepped into roles as both the POD ASB president as well as a W.O.L.F. ambassador. He went from being a wallflower to being a confident public speaker, and we are so very proud of him!

Jakeb’s contagious smile and positive attitude light up the campus of Walker. He overflows with kindness, ever compassionate and thoughtful of others. Jakeb exemplifies selflessness, always willing to help even if it means stepping out of his comfort zone. Mature beyond his years, he exudes quiet confidence and carries himself with humble dignity. Inquisitive and analytical, Jakeb approaches learning with a thirst for knowledge, constant curiosity, and desire to delve deeper into the intricacies of subjects by challenging assumptions and connecting concepts. With a mindset to go out and change the world, most especially the environment, I have no doubt that he will succeed.

Anyone who’s had Juliana in class knows how incredible of a student she is. Always focused, never any late assignments. In talking with Juliana, it sounds like she’s come incredibly far compared to where she was before coming to Walker. She decided to flip a switch, and we’ve all gotten to see how incredibly successful she is when she’s locked in. But, what is most incredible about Juliana is not the work she does on papers and in class, it’s her ability to connect with people. You can see that her friends love having her around and have faith in her to be a trustworthy ear and a voice of wisdom. Juliana has an emotional maturity far beyond her years and anyone who gets to connect with her is sure to have a meaningful conversation and receive insight from an incredibly intelligent mind. Juliana isn’t quite sure what her next steps are, which is a great place to be. It’s a blank canvas on which she’s going to paint a beautiful picture of her life. Someone as talented as her is sure to find themselves in roles of true impact on humanity.

Isabelle Oakley carries herself with an infectious happiness and positivity. She has been an inaugural member of the W.O.L.F. ambassadors, a student ambassador program focused on both increasing connections of our new students to campus and extending our presence in the community. Her willingness to support other students as well as taking an informal leadership role within the group is a testament to her ability to connect with others in an authentic way. Isabelle was also selected to take part in a student interview panel as part of an interview team to hire a new Connection Coordinator. This was the first time students have been involved in the interview process at Walker High School and Puyallup Open Doors. Due to her involvement and positive impact on campus, she will be missed, but she will undoubtedly excel as she pursues a degree in Cosmetology with the intent of owning her own salon in the future.

Em is well deserving of recognition for her growth and success at Walker High School. Her dedication to academics and personal growth is evident with multiple honors and scholarships, and the lasting impact she has left on the students and staff in our school community. She has always been a source of encouragement for others as I’ve witnessed many times how she helped her friends feel like the impossible is possible. Looking ahead, Em is set to begin an exciting new start to her career as she joins the Puget Sound Electrical Apprenticeship through the Port of Seattle, where she will excel in a career following in her grandfather’s footsteps.

Cyan is passionate about learning. She is a problem solver, troubleshooter and critical thinker. Because of these skills she learned a coding language these last 2 years and programmed Walker High School’s Wolf Tech Robotics robot to compete at the highest levels in the state. Her efforts with programming, CAD design, and fabrication led the team in receiving 1st place at the First Robotics Competition (FRC), Auburn High School, District Competition. With the accomplishments she has made in the last few years, I have no doubt that whatever path she takes moving forward, she will succeed, and she will bring whoever is surrounding her success as well.

Aunisty is such a kind, talented, and driven person. Her creativity really stands out, and you can see how much she cares in everything she does, whether it’s volunteering at the food bank, taking stunning photos, or trying something new in the kitchen. Since coming to our school, she has shown tremendous growth—not just in her skills, but in her confidence and vision for the future. She’s got big dreams and the dedication to make them happen, especially with photography. I truly believe she’s going to do great things. The world needs more people like her—genuine, thoughtful, and full of heart.
